  Obituary	Died unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, February 15, 2003. Jennie was born December 17, 1916 in Boston, MA, the daughter of John and Jennie Harmsen, and had been a resident of Kalamazoo since 1925. Jennie was a retired secretary at Beimer Printing Company. She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Moose Lodge #88. She enjoyed bowling and golfing on several leagues. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theron G. Balch; her daughter, Sandra J. Deau; and her partner for twelve years, Encil "Slim" Cline. Surviving are two daughters, Sharon (Robert) Burgess, and Colleen Brown, both of Kalamazoo; a son, John Balch of Woodbridge, VA; six grandchildren: Tina (Leigh) Baxter of Muncie, IN, Terry Peer of Kalamazoo, Marion (Robert) Graham of Lake Wales, FL, Connie Caruso of Parchment, Andrea (Dwayne) Duncan of McGuire A.F.B. New Jersey, and Benjamin Balch of Woodbridge, VA; twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. Celebration of life service will be held Wednesday 4:00 p.m. at BETZLER FUNERAL HOMES Stadium Drive, West of US-131 375-2900 Cremation will follow services with private interment in Mt.
