Born in Somerville, he was a Navy veteran of World War II. He lived here for 43 years, and was a communicant of St. Michael's Church. His wife, the former Mary J. Ward, died in 1992. He leaves three sons, Donald R. of Townsend, Bruce M. of Groton, and James P. of Chelmsford; a daughter, Linda M. Wegener of Chelmsford; a brother, Richard T. of Holyoke; a sister, Jocelyn Gately of Framingham, and eight grandchildren. The funeral will be this morning at Bedford Funeral Home and the church, with burial in Shawsheen Cemetery.       Obituary:
      Joseph H. Clancy, 72, who worked nearly 50 years in sales of dairy products, died of cancer Saturday at his home in St. Davids.
      Mr. Clancy began his career in the early 1950s selling milk in Boston before moving in 1966 to sales manager for Sealtest Foods in New York.
      In 1972, he moved to the Philadelphia area to be East Coast sales and marketing chief for Sealtest and Breyer's Ice Cream. About 10 years later, Mr. Clancy opened his business, Wicklow Frozen Desserts, an ice cream distribution company. He sold the business in 1989, but had continued to work in sales until recently.
      Mr. Clancy, who was born in Arlington, Mass., enrolled at the University of Notre Dame, but left school after his freshman year to join the Army in the waning days of World War II.
      After his discharge, he returned to Notre Dame and graduated in 1950 with a bachelor's degree in marketing.
      He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Foley Clancy; three sons, James H., Paul M. and Richard J.; two daughters, Beverly A. McDonell and Jean M. Schumacher; a brother; a sister; and 15 grandchildren.
      A Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. today at St. Katharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 104 S. Aberdeen Ave., Wayne. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken.
